FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Are all EVAGARDEN products Made in Italy?
We are proudly Italians and the goal that has always moved us in the selection of our products is to offer the best to our community. Fortunately we are able to find the best of cosmetics in Italy and that is why almost 100% of our proposal is Made in Italy, including our precious brushes which are handmade in Italy. We say "almost" because to date we have not found better nail polishes than ours which are Made in France and a better eye liner than ours which is Made in Germany. We were born in Italy with the aim of staying in Italy when Italy has the best to offer; when the best is found elsewhere, we are not afraid to welcome the "Made in somewhere else" if this is synonymous with the highest quality.
Are EVAGARDEN products tested on animals?
By law in the cosmetic sector, the experimentation of ingredients and products on animals has been prohibited since 2004. This prohibition was sanctioned by Directive 76/768 / EC and is now reaffirmed in Regulation 1223/09 Art 18.

Furthermore, the COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) N. 655/2013 of 10 July 2013, which establishes common criteria for the justification of the declarations used in relation to cosmetic products, in Annex 1, chapter 1 (Common Criteria), point 1 (Compliance with standards), paragraph 3 says: "Declarations that give the impression that a product has a specific benefit are not permitted, if that benefit consists simply in compliance with the minimum legal requirements." For this reason, we do not highlight any terms such as "Not tested on animals" or "Cruelty Free" or other similar terms that do nothing but highlight a requirement that all products must comply with by law.

EVAGARDEN has been present on the market since 1979 and operates internationally. Precisely for this reason we work in the most careful and scrupulous respect of all regulations, not only EU but also international. In fact, all our products also comply with the very strict FDA and JP standards (for export and distribution in the United States and Japan).
Can EVAGARDEN products also be used by celiacs?
Lately, many cosmetic companies have been promoting cosmetics declared as "suitable for celiacs", "for celiacs" or "gluten-free". We emphasize that all cosmetics (including lipsticks and any lip products) and products for external use do not involve risks for celiacs and can be used in peace.
Celiac disease is in fact a food intolerance that has the small intestine as its target organ and the presence of gluten in cosmetics or other products that may come into contact with the skin or mucous membranes, as well as those of the mouth, does not involve any risk for celiacs. In fact, similar to drugs, the amount of toothpaste or lipstick that can be accidentally ingested in daily use, even if these products contain gluten due to accidental contamination or as an excipient of particular active ingredients, cannot in any case lead to a significant intake of gluten. The Scientific Committee of the Celiac Association has already expressed a negative opinion in the past on the possible use of wordings or symbols relating to the absence of gluten on these products, as they do not present any danger to people with celiac disease.

The Italian Celiac Association (AIC) itself declares: "all detergents (including toothpastes, mouthwashes and denture pastes), cosmetics (including lipstick and cocoa butter) and products for external use do not involve risks for the celiac and they can be used safely as gluten is toxic only if ingested, even for those suffering from dermatitis herpetiformis.
amount of toothpaste or lipstick that can be accidentally ingested in daily use, even if these products contain gluten, cannot in any case lead to a significant intake. Therefore, even for cosmetics and detergents, the fact that specific indications are not necessary at all applies and if they are not present they do not constitute a risk for celiac disease. Similarly, neither AIC nor other foreign associations issue the Spiga Barrata brand to this type of product, as the brand is designed only for packaged foods." Link to the AIC Italian article.

The American FDA itself recently reiterated that cosmetics do not need to display information on the presence of gluten on the label, as is the case in the US since January 1, 2008 for all foods. For these reasons, the alarm spread above all through the Internet for the use of cosmetics not labeled "gluten-free", fueled by incomplete and often incorrect information transmitted by consumer associations, patient blogs, or by the manufacturing industries themselves, appears to light of these considerations, completely unfounded.
Do EVAGARDEN products contain Nickel?
In EVAGARDEN products, Nickel is not used as a component of the product but, like other heavy metals, being an unavoidable impurity in many production processes of raw materials, by law it can be present in PPM (parts per million). Our products do not carry the wording nickel tested, because it would not guarantee the total absence of this material, but the company, thanks to the very high level of quality of the production processes that lead to the creation of the EVAGARDEN line, guarantees a very low presence of PPM. , certainly within the legal thresholds. From experience, from 1979 to today, we have not encountered any allergy problems to our products, but of course each case is different.
As a general rule, so that all our customers are fully protected, we always invite you to read the ingredients listed on the boxes of each individual product and in the presence of important allergies, as a preventive measure, to do a test by applying the product to the forearm. If a red spot forms within an hour, it is better to avoid the use of the cosmetic (this both for our line and for any other product).
Do EVAGARDEN nail polish formulations contain phthalates?
The formulations of EVAGARDEN nail polishes have been, for more than 20 years, "5 free" do not contain phthalates (DIBUTYL PHTHALATE or DBP), formaldehyde and / or its resins, toluene and camphor.
